Skydance Media Spring 2018 Film & TV Development Internship

Skydance Media is looking for motivated and enthusiastic Interns for our Santa Monica office! With openings in our Features Development and Television Development departments, our Internship Program offers its own unique learning opportunities. You will have the chance to work on the front line, to network and meet with Skydance leaders, learn transferable skills, and gain real-world experience. It is an experience ideal for those moving from classroom to the industry. 

About Skydance Media 

Skydance is a diversified media company founded by David Ellison in 2010 to create high quality, event-level entertainment for global audiences. The Company brings to life stories of immersive worlds across its feature film, television, and interactive platforms. Its feature films include LIFE, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Star Trek Beyond, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Terminator Genisys, World War Z, Star Trek Into Darkness, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Jack Reacher, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, and True Grit. Skydance’s next feature film to release is Geostorm on October 20th. In 2017, Skydance formed an animation division to develop and produce a slate of high-end feature films and television series in partnership with Spain’s Ilion Animation Studios. Skydance Television launched in 2013. Its current slate includes Emmy-nominated Grace and Frankie on Netflix, Altered Carbon on Netflix, Jack Ryan on Amazon, Condor on AT&T Audience Network, Ten Days in the Valley on ABC, and Dietland on AMC. Skydance Interactive launched in 2016 to create and publish original and IP-based virtual reality experiences and video games. Skydance Interactive recently debuted its first original title – Archangel, a story-driven VR shooter.

 

SKYDANCE MEDIA INTERNSHIPS – SPRING 2018

(FILM DEVELOPMENT, TELEVISION DEVELOPMENT)

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

·       Read scripts and prepare coverage reports for Features/TV departments

·       Research and stay current with trending industry topics via online trades, stories, other resources

·       Participate in Pitch Classes and Executive Lunches

·       Develop and/or maintain distribution lists, mailing lists and filing systems

·       Periodically screen phone calls for Executives

·       Handle confidential correspondence, reports, presentations and other documents

·       Perform additional administrative duties such as filing, typing, and copying documents

·       Assist office management with various clerical functions including delivering documents, distributing mail, prepare and track purchasing requests, providing assistance to employees, etc.

 

Basic qualifications:

 

·       MUST be ENROLLED in a Bachelor or Masters Degree program at an accredited institution

·       Proficiency in MS Office; Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint

·       Desire to work in entertainment industry, development a plus

·       Self-starter with proficient writing and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task

·       Ability to excel in a high-powered, fast-paced media entertainment environment

 

Eligibility requirements:

 

·       Ability to earn school credit in the United States is required – all internships are unpaid

·       Must be able to commit 20-50 hours a week

·       Must be able to commit to working the full duration of the Spring semester
