Social Media & Sales Intern

In your role as a Social Media and Sales Intern, you will:

  • Help manage our social media and digital initiatives

  • Support the company’s business development efforts

  • Receive receive regular mentoring access to our leadership team


Your primary function will be to support our Chief Marketing Officer with our Social Media and Digital Marketing efforts.  You will help build and manage our social and digital efforts on both a client and on an internal basis alongside our Blue Skies Unlimited team.  You will communicate directly with our digital marketing liaisons and social media community and help coordinate opportunities for Blue Skies Unlimited and our clients to  attain greater exposure.


A smaller portion of your time will be spent supporting the company’s Co-Founders on business development and sales support work.  This will include research in the startup community of prospects and support of current clients by helping to identify and pursue strategic partnerships.


An important portion of your time will also involve mentoring access to our team of seasoned professionals.  We will ensure that you receive guidance and support during your time with us.  We will help you to think strategically about your career, potentially opening up access to our network of global connections cutting across industries and verticals.


Our Interns are vital to our momentum and ability to build out our business strategy and

create positive results.  You will have a direct impact on the development of a growing startup company and its roster of clients.


Responsibilities (may evolve over time):

  • Develop a social media strategy and maintain social media outreach and communications.

  • Build social media presence by attracting more followers.

  • Assist in the design of key initiatives to expand, develop, and diversify followings.

  • Work on gifting initiatives for strategic partners.

  • Draft community emails/newsletters and outreach materials.

  • Assist with execution of partnership projects, meeting planning, and event planning.

  • Assist in website maintenance and copyediting.

  • Research startup prospect companies and develop lead lists.

  • Conduct initial outreach to prospects and for clients to potential partnerships.

  • Develop strategic presentations for projects as needed.

You have a desire to learn our organization and are eager for professional guidance so you can make the most of your experience.  You solicit feedback and help when you need it.


You have commercial and technical intelligence.

You have worked with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and basic online tools to manage data.


You're independent and self-motivated.

You are a strategic thinker who is results-oriented.


Time Commitment

Applicants will be able to commit to at least 10-15 hours per week and will be available for meetings in person at our local WeWork locations in Los Angeles.


Compensation

This is an unpaid internship but is an exceptional opportunity to gain career development, social media and business development experience at a startup with an ambitious set of initiatives. We are happy to work with your institution to give you academic credit for your experience.
