Artist Services Intern

Reports to: Director of Artist Services, Artist Services Associate & Special Events Manager, and Senior Staff

Works with: Director of Artist Services, Artist Services Associate & Special Events Manager, Festival Artists, Community Programmers/Organizations and Institutions, Contractors, Senior Staff, Fellow Interns

Focused Responsibilities: Artist hospitality and inventory, booking artist travel, general management, event coordination, daily, weekly, & monthly scheduling, and merchandise management

Core Skills Required: Efficient multi-tasking, strong organization and time management skills, event planning experience and interest, initiative taking, leadership, interpersonal skills, and extreme detail orientation
 
The Artist Services Intern assists the Director of Artist Services with day-to-day operations and management.  The successful candidate will play a major role before, during, and after each visiting artist/company's residencies at The Yard.  Artist Services duties include: assisting in the coordination of artist orientation meetings, housing, transportation, and information distribution.  The Artist Services Intern welcomes artists on arrival days, informing them of the schedule, answering questions about island living, and collects/files necessary forms.  The position assists in the planning and execution of the annual summer benefit and multiple donor cultivation events.  This position plays an integral role in the coordination of all post performance receptions (primary responsibility for garnering dessert donations and managing bar inventory).  This position is also in charge of all Yard merchandise management and inventory tracking.

Applicants for this position must demonstrate a genuine interest in artist communications, event planning, and general management.  The Artist Services Intern works with all departments to ensure that every aspect of the Summer Season runs smoothly.
