Summer Theatre Internships and Performance Opportunities
OC-Centric: Orange County's New Play Festival is accepting applications for the following Summer 2020 opportunities:
- 1 Directing Internship (directing a 10-minute new play "LOL" by Craig Holland)
- 2 Directing Observerships
- 2 Stage Management Internships
- 1 Sound/Audio Internship
In addition, multiple acting opportunities for BA Theatre and BFA Theatre Performance/Screen Acting majors at Chapman University (auditions for actors will be held in mid-March 2020)
There is a stipend pay for all interns and actors.
Rehearsals begin on July 1st and will continue through August 11th. Rehearsals are generally from 6:30pm-10:00pm Monday-Friday and 10:00am-5:00pm on Saturdays. However, some rehearsals may be scheduled earlier in the day based on actors' availability.
Performances for the festival are August 20-23 and 27-30.
OC-Centric: Orange County's New Play Festival is sponsored by the College of Performing Arts and the Department of Theatre at Chapman University. All auditions, rehearsals, and performances take place on the Chapman University campus in Moulton Hall.
To apply for all internships, send a letter of intent, resume and two references to Tamiko Washington at occentric@gmail.com by Friday, March 13th.
Interns will be contacted via email for an in-person interview once submitted materials have been reviewed and candidates have been chosen.
Actors who are interested in performing in the festival, please be sure to sign up once the audition notification is posted on the Department of Theatre callboard at the end of February 2020.
