Radio Play-By-Play Broadcasting Summer Internship (Baseball)

Mid May - Mid August

The Spearfish Sasquatch Baseball Club is looking for a Play-By-Play Radio Broadcaster for their 2021 season. This position will be the "Voice of the Spearfish Sasquatch."

Game Day Responsibilities

  • Radio broadcast all home & away games (64 games + playoffs)
  • Vast knowledge of the game, the players, and day to day updates
  • Ability to give play-by-play and in game analysis
  • Ensure that all equipment is operational and ready to use prior to game
  • Assist in troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise
  • Assist in all pre-game set-up and post-game tear down operations as needed
  • Ensure that all equipment is stored / secured properly for transport or storage

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain “Crows Nest” organization and tidiness
  • Ensure that “Crows Nest” is cleaned up at end of the night
  • Must attend weekly planning meeting with management
  • Communicate all relevant issues to management
  • Produce advertiser live reads and commercials
  • Conduct pre-game and post-game interviews
  • Ability to assist as directed by management
  • Be creative with all aspects of production
  • Write game recaps and post on website

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service skill. 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the game of baseball and broadcasting sports.
  • Must be able to present and maintain a professional demeanor.
