Technical Product Manager

OVERVIEW

COTA is looking for an individual with a strategic product focus to join our fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. As a Technical Product Manager you will be responsible for a critical piece of our company’s success - our medical data abstraction platform. You will report to the Director of Clinical Product Development and work at the core of how COTA captures and expresses oncology data. 
Applicants need to be self-starters who understand and enjoy the challenges around working with varied stakeholders. Candidates must have the ability to accurately interpret data definitions in compliance with COTA data dictionaries. 
 

A TYPICAL DAY WILL INCLUDE

  • Curating the platform roadmap; creating, managing, and closing platform-related tickets; and socializing the need for, and value of, the platform across the company
  • Using SQL to investigate pipeline operation and performance to generate reports that illustrate pipeline operational consistency
  • Reviewing user flows and providing direct and actionable feedback to the Product team
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interface across departments including Engineering, Medical, and Operations teams, as well as others in the Product team
  • Works with other members of the Product team to ensure the accurate and complete use of data elements
  • Champion and instill a deep sense of product-driven direction and focus
  • Create new products or features to help manage control data at scale
  • Maintain and promote the rules and concepts that govern how Cota represents data
 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of experience in product management. Alternatively, 3-5 years systems/business analysis and/or software development, with at least 2 years of product management
  • Enjoys weaving stories with data
  • An ability to formulate insightful questions about data
  • An ability to query relational databases to test, validate, and troubleshoot data flows
  • Communicates clearly and is comfortable creating, modifying, and managing tickets
  • Maintains a top-notch backlog and roadmap, and writes specifications with precision and accuracy
  • Cares about the details from medical and technical standpoints, as precision is paramount in this industry
