Associate Director

Associate Director. PAAMCO Prisma, LLC. Newport Beach, CA. DUTIES: Analyze and research hedge fund investments/portfolios for institutional investors and provide conclusions and recommendations for funds and business operations to PAAMCO Prisma portfolio managers, clients, and prospects. Know trades and themes and articulate rationale for risk/return expectations, portfolio construction and tactical asset allocation. Lead the due diligence teams to evaluate potential investments. Provide on-going coverage/research of managers. This generally requires an AD to monitor 8-10 hedge fund managers and jointly determine (with Portfolio Managers) whether to fire or retain hired managers. Prepare position-level analyses of managers' portfolios and estimate returns of each manager. Review fund documents and research to verify compliance with internal guidelines. Conduct statistical analysis to evaluate manager performance and risk characteristics. Manage new client accounts; communicate PAAMCO Prisma investment process, business structure, growth and implementation plans. Determine expectations, demands, and goals of institutional clients. Review manager and overall fund performance in preparation of quarterly client reports. Maintain accountability and responsibility for output of client-related materials. Up to 15% domestic and international travel required for client-required offsite meetings and manager due diligence. 

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Master’s degree required – Economics, Finance or MBA
  • Years of investment experience: 4
  • Job duties during at least six months of the qualifying experience must have included: Modeling yield curves, pricing fixed income derivatives, and valuing equity, caps, floors, swaptions, callable bonds, and other interest rate sensitive securities; use Black-Scholes model, programming option simulations; use of statistical tools including multiple regression, nonlinear model, analysis of variance, evaluation of multicollinearity and autocorrelation problems in statistical samples.
  • Alternatively, in lieu of experience, academic studies must have included coursework in modeling yield curves, pricing fixed income derivatives, and valuing equity, caps, floors, swaptions, callable bonds, and other interest rate sensitive securities; use Black-Scholes model, programming option simulations; use of statistical tools including multiple regression, nonlinear model, analysis of variance, evaluation of multicollinearity and autocorrelation problems in statistical samples.
