Laboratory Assistant
LA Testing/EMSL Analytical, Inc., one of the largest environmental testing firms in the United States, is currently seeking a full time Laboratory Assistant for its laboratory location in Ontario, CA. This position offers the chance to work for a stable company, a great team, and provides the opportunity to grow within.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis for Air Sample Prep, Bulk Sample Prep, Gravimetric Prep, TEM Prep, and NOB Prep- any areas of prep related to client work - Will Train.
Assist with cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment.
Good lab practice.
Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system.
Accept shipping and handling items received by the laboratory from clients- will train.
Assist with customer services client questions via phone and e-mail.
Answer high volume phone calls and interface with clients.
Other laboratory and clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, faxing, copying may be assigned by lab staff and manager as needed.
Requirements:
High School degree/equivalent or Associates Degree in Life Science or 2 years of college course work completed.
One to two years of previous academic or commercial lab experience is a plus.
Must be able to work independently and with a team.
Must have good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office especially EXCEL and typing.
Excellent customer service skills – customer service experience is a plus.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignments.
Available Shift:
Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., extra hours and/or weekend work may be required to meet business demands.
