Operations Coordinator

The Operations Coordinator will provide support for the Women’s Ministry by assisting in the implementation of all phases of the program for the women and children. This will include but is not limited to: providing supervision of the, resident women and children, coaching, discipleship, teaching, mentoring, administering appropriate disciplinary action, developing and teaching the life skills portion of the program, working with interns, coordinating nursery functions and emergency shelter.

The Operations Coordinator will also facilitate outside contacts with various agencies and support clients through required paperwork and logistics needed to secure available services. The person in this position is responsible for ensuring the coordination of safe, quality, professional, spiritual and efficient services for our client families. This position requires the ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate volunteers for ministry and support the program operationally and administratively. The Operations Coordinator is also expected to case manage as needed and in doing so; follow procedures and policies with their clients. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Operational and Administrative Coordination
1. With guidance from the Program Director, execute administrative and operational tasks.
2. Coordinate and support the Emergency Shelter operations.
3. Create and implement quality, multi-faceted programs intended to challenge and motivate our clients.
4. Coordinate transportation for clients as needed
5. Assist clients in completing administrative tasks needed for them to receive services
6. Network and interact with various county and private agencies to secure needed services and benefits on our clients' behalf.
7. Coordinate resident activities, including facilitating small groups, Bible studies, and classes as needed.
8. In conjunction with the coaching and @Work staff, provide adequate supervision and guidance related to employment, skill acquisition and placement for our clients.
9. Conduct phone screening and intake new applicants as needed
10. Coordinate an equitable division of labor and adequate task coverage in the house for clients.
11. Complete other duties as assigned by Program Director

Duties Specific to Children
12. Lead, Recruit, Train and Supervise, Clients, Interns and Volunteers in the area of Childcare
13. Be actively involved in the lives of the children, modeling relational ministry to staff, interns and volunteers.
14. Ensure daily reports of children activities; food intake, diaper changes, rest periods, and social interactions are given to parents.
15. Develop and implement a specialized learning plan for each child, targeting pre-school and kindergarten readiness skills.
16. Develop and integrate a Christian based educational curriculum into the children’s program.
17. Implement Parenting with Logic frame work into mothers and child’s parenting practices. 

General Case Management
1. Administer needs assessment tools to determine client’s benefit history, current needs, and qualifying data. This includes economic, health, dental, optical, legal, and educational services.
2. Serve as liaison to various vocational rehabilitation services and facilities to insure client’s timely transition into the vocational component of the program.
3. Provide spiritual leadership and counsel to residents including counseling one on one, group counseling, and planning in-house and outside activities.
4. Conduct a series of life skills training classes designed to enhance client’s skill levels in a variety of practical areas (budgeting, parenting, cooking, etc.)
5. Maintain case files, attend and participate in related staff meetings and client review sessions. 
6. Be available to transport clients and/or their children when needed.
7. Provide supervision for residents and supervise discipline in the area of general behavior and program rules.
8. Oversee compliance with overnight and late night pass when appropriate.
9. Supervise resident’s in-house job placement, training and performance evaluation.

Required Education and Experience
• B.A. or equivalent experience with specific training in Bible, counseling, urban missions, or theology 
• Must have a compatible theology on major issues of CityTeam’s Statement of faith
• Must be committed to serving God and the Body of Christ.
• Must have a teachable spirit and committed to team participation.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in case management field or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children or education in the field of early childhood development preferred.
• Familiarity with CityTeam, DMM, and addiction recovery principles  
• Good interpersonal skills, with proven ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds
• Proven skills in motivating people, setting goals, and commitment to getting the job done
• Must have a valid California driver’s license with no more than two-points and no DUI related incidents in the past ten years

Preferred Education and Experience
• CAADAC/CCAPP certification
• Bilingual language skills (English/Spanish/Vietnamese/Cambodian)
• Leading interactive groups & Parenting Class
• Experience and specific course work in the area of chemical addiction, codependency, crisis intervention, and family dynamics
• Good written communication skills, experience writing court reports and or assessments
• Computer literate and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Work Conditions
• This job operates in a professional office environment and residential apartment setting
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
• Days and hours of work are typically Monday – Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm with occasional evenings and weekends
• Travel is primarily local during the business day

• Must have an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ 
• Must be active in a local Christian body of believers or at least pursuing community with other Christ-followers
• Must have compatible theology on major issues of CityTeam's Statement of Faith
• Must be committed to serving God and the body of Christ
