Director, Finance

THE ROLE    
The Director of Finance will oversee the Accounting and Finance functions for Legends. Specifically, this position will oversee the fiscal support functions of Legends Hospitality, LLC in accordance with current Federal/State regulations and generally accepted accounting principles. Further, this position is to provide financial management and analysis. This position will oversee, monitor and analyze capital and operating budgets, including monthly financial analyses, monthly forecasting, annual planning, cash forecasting, and ad hoc business analyses.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Work directly with the GM of Operations, Corporate Controller, and Finance / Strategy lead to prepare operations analysis and reports. 
  • Manage all aspects of the day-to-day accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger. 
  • Directly oversee subordinate finance/payroll.
  • Daily reconciliation of cash and credit card transactions. 
  • Prepare a flash revenue report after every event day. 
  • Oversee the inventory process and perform in-depth cost of goods analysis. 
  • Coordinate preparation of monthly financial statement. 
  • Ensure a timely and accurate month-end closing process. 
  • Analyze monthly balance sheet and P&L figures to prepare comments and identify performance trends. 
  • Review and prepare monthly financial results and externally required financial reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc financial analysis for senior management including business forecasting.
  • Provide strategic advice based on analyzing trends in the operation and financial performance of the venue.
  • Assist in the design and development of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Design and implement cost savings solutions.
  • Manage budget and control expenses effectively.
  • Participate in the planning and administration of the annual budget process including detailed review of departmental budget submissions.
  • Build solid working relationships with business and department leaders. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management. 
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferably in the hospitality or finance industry.
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential. 
  • Must be highly analytical, have the ability to think creatively, and to understand complex business dynamics. 
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment. 
  • Knowledge of point of sale systems a plus. 
  • Must be flexible to travel and work extended hours due to business requirements including nights, weekends and holidays.
