Institutional Research Analyst

Pay Scale:                       $75,000 - $80,000
Schedule:                        Eligible for Hybrid Schedule after completing training period
 
Summary:
This position will support the Institution’s information technology department and report to the Chief Information Officer and the Chief Administrative Officer.
 
Using the Institution’s Jenzabar-EX (SQL) database system, this position is responsible for a broad range of activities involving data collection, analysis and reporting in academic and administrative areas. The Institutional Research Analyst plans, prepares, and produces a variety of regular and ad-hoc queries, reports, and publications to meet external reporting requirements, such as IPEDS, accrediting agencies, state reporting, etc.; and internal informational needs, including environmental factors affecting the Institution. The individual in this position performs statistical analysis to support institutional planning, analysis and process improvement. System responsibilities include providing user documentation and facilitating all application-related issues. End-user support responsibilities include overall coordination of report creation, report troubleshooting, help desk facilitation, and managing the implementation of on-line reports to a wide range of users. The Institutional Research Analyst serves as the primary contact for any reporting  purposes and aids all departments in the institution.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
·    Collect end user requirements to develop required reports
·    Independently write and optimize simple to complex queries
·    Create reports electronically using the appropriate enterprise reporting environment and strategy
·    Facilitate the validation and testing of new or revised reports. Work with users to verify results and content, develop errors or exception reports when applicable and receive official user sign off on completed work
·    Track, document, and facilitate resolution of all reporting technical issues. Keeps issue resolution log and proactively manage growth and utilization of analytic reporting products
·    Maintain technical and end-user documentation
·    Institute and monitor end-user support services, including coordination with Help Desk resources, response to voice/email messages and general triage of end-user requests
·    Follow Information Technology department standards, development methodology and processes for specification, implementation, testing, change management, distribution, and documentation of reports
·    Additional responsibilities include assisting with assigned tasks by the CIO or by the Senior Database Administrator
 
Qualifications:
·    Bachelor’s degree
·    AA degree or at least 3 years of relevant experience and/or training in report writing, or equivalent combination of education and experience
·    Expertise with SQL and Excel               
·    Must be proficient in Microsoft Power BI
·    Experience with Jenzabar EX a plus
·    Experience with dashboard creation and report automation
·    Experience with Sybase Infomaker and web Reporting tools a plus Experience with HTML, CSS, API and similar web languages a plus
·    Great communication skills a must
·    Ability to deal with diverse skill sets and personalities; motivated team player
·    Highly organized with proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and manage own time effectively
